Lago di Como Experiences (“we”, lagodicomoexperiences.com) is an independent booking-concierge website. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and what rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It is written to be read by humans.
1. Who is the data controller
The data controller is the operator of Lago di Como Experiences, reachable via WhatsApp at +39 351 476 6918. Because we are a concierge and not a tour operator, your travel contract is always with the local operator who delivers your experience.
2. What data this website collects
Almost none. This is a static website: there are no contact forms, no user accounts, no newsletter sign-ups, no comment systems. We do not use advertising pixels, remarketing tags or third-party analytics that profile you. The hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and operational purposes; these are retained for a limited period and never used for marketing.
3. What happens when you contact us on WhatsApp
When you tap a WhatsApp button on this site, your browser opens a chat with our number (+39 351 476 6918) on WhatsApp, a service provided by Meta Platforms. From that moment, the conversation is also governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy and terms, which we encourage you to read. Within that conversation we process the details you volunteer — typically your name, travel dates, group size, accommodation location and any preferences or needs you share (including, where relevant, dietary requirements) — for one purpose only: to find, quote and arrange the experience you asked for. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
4. Who we share your data with
Only with the local operator(s) necessary to deliver what you booked — for example, we pass your name, date, group size and meeting point to the skipper who will run your tour. We never sell your data, never share it with advertisers, and never add you to marketing lists. Operators are instructed to use your details solely to deliver the booked service.
5. What we do not collect
We do not take payments, so we never see your card details. We do not ask for documents, passport data or any special-category data beyond what you may volunteer (for example, an allergy relevant to a cooking class). Please do not send us sensitive documents via WhatsApp — we do not need them.
6. Cookies
This site uses no profiling cookies and no cookie banner is legally required. Any cookies present are strictly technical (for example, hosting or security cookies) and do not identify you for marketing purposes.
7. Retention
WhatsApp conversations related to a booking are kept for the duration needed to deliver the service and for the statutory retention periods that apply to related transactions. Conversations that do not lead to a booking may be deleted at your request at any time.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may at any time request access to your data, its correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you may object to processing. 9. Changes to this policy
