A €285 one-hour private tour sounds like a luxury until you divide it by seven guests: €40 each, the same as a shared tour — with no strangers, no fixed route and your own skipper. Families and groups of friends should almost always go private; solo travellers and couples on a budget are the ones who win with shared tours. The other detail is what is included: on the lake, skipper, fuel and insurance are standard inclusions on crewed tours; fuel on self-drive rentals varies by base; dinner is never included in dinner transfers (you pay the restaurant à la carte); prosecco on sunset and proposal tours is included almost everywhere.
